I’ve been thinking a lot about slavery, annoyed at the automatic association with black people and their claim of sensitivity on the matter - especially their claim for reparations. It’s mostly bullshit.
So I’ve put together a list of facts to alleviate any white guilt that might still be lingering over slavery:
- The word “slave” is derived from the ethnic term “Slav”, white Europeans who were earlier the most common slaves.
- The only place where slavery still openly exists in its brutal ancient form, is AFRICA.
- More whites were enslaved in North Africa than blacks were ever taken to North America.
- The first recorded slave owner in America was a BLACK MAN.
- In 1830 there were around 3,775 BLACK slave owners in America owning approximately 12,740 slaves.
- Native Americans owned thousands of slaves.
- Slavery was universal, practised on every inhabited continent, not a British or American invention.
- Brutal black on black slavery was common in Africa for thousands of years.
- Most slaves brought to America from Africa were purchased from black slave owners.
- White peoples were the first recorded to outlaw slavery.
- No country spent or did more to end slavery than Britain, using 40% of our national budget to free ALL slaves in our empire, and our Navy, the greatest in the world, to police and enforce a ban on slave trading.
- England within the United Kingdom never allowed Black slavery, the Lord Chief Justice ruling that: "as soon as a Negro comes into England, he becomes free. One may be a villein in England, but not a slave."
