Is President Macron of France Anglophobic?
I will try to be clear, factual, unbiased and honest. I think the following is true.

A majority of English probably think that Macron IS Anglophobic. THIS website sums it up:

https://trollograph.blogspot.com/2021/12/vitriolic-france-seems-intent-on.html

‘The Brexit campaign was made up of lies, exaggerations and simplifications,’ Macron told France in a New Year’s address last year. ‘We must remember at every moment what lies can lead to in our democracies.’

Honest people (the majority) do not like being called "liars" and "deluded" just because they disagree with someone.

The British are accused by the French political elite (which is not "France" any more than the CCP of China is "China") of lying and self-delusion over BREXIT, but that is a LIE. In the opinion of most, Macron's statement is ITSELF a lie and proves he neither understands nor cares about the British and democracy.

All we seem to hear from him and the rest of the French government is a tsunami of rhetoric complaining about BREXIT, and especially over fishing. I can't recall ever hearing Macron say anything good about Britain.

It is next to impossible to discuss BREXIT because many people (including Macron) rapidly depart from evidence, logic and reason.

The ROOT PROBLEM for many British:

  • A DEMOCRATIC DECISION was taken to LEAVE the EU, and British people feel that DEMORACY is fundamental to civilisation - but has NOT been respected by President Macron.
  • The EU (and nobody supports the EU more than Macron) is determined to create a federal European state. ALL its policies and actions are determined by this aim.
  • But the Truth is that NOT ONE SINGLE EUROPEAN CITIZEN HAS EVER VOTED FOR THAT: NOBODY, NOWHERE, EVER.
  • In 2005, the then French government gave the people a referendum on whether to accept "The European Consititution".
  • That name itself is a give-away; COUNTRIES have constitutions, not co-operating sovereign states.
  • The French people voted "NON" - much to the astonishment of the French political elite.
  • The French government simply colluded with the EU, changed the name to "The Lisbon Treaty" and passed it in parliamment, by-passing the people.

Since the British vote to LEAVE, the general impression here is that France has done everything it can to make the DEMOCRATIC DECISION to LEAVE the EU difficult.
