I keep hearing about fishing rights; what's all that about?

For many hundreds of years, the UK was self-sufficient in fish, but EU entry in 1975 saw many of our traditional fishing grounds simply given away to other member states.

This was an extraordinary betrayal of our fishing industry and fishermen.

The main thing to consider now, is that from self-sufficiency before the EU we have gone to importing 66% of our fish, much of it taken from what used to be our OWN waters. We can contrast our situation with that enjoyed by other traditional fishing nations outside the EU.

Greenland and Iceland are thriving outside the EU,
and retain FULL control of their legal fishing areas.

See here "Stolen Seas" by Ray Finch, the full story of the tragic loss of our fishing industry.
